The Museum of Fine Arts 255 Beach Dr. N.E. St. Petersburg, FL 33701  Ansel Adams and the American West celebrates the American master Ansel Adams (1902-1984) and his contributions to the progress of photography as an art form. It also honors his activities that helped to preserve the beauty of the American landscape and our national parks.Thirty of the nearly 60 photographs are by Adams, including several large-scale images. Christopher Still: Coming Home

Gulf Coast Museum Of Art 12211 Walsingham Rd. Largo, FL 33778-2008  This retrospective exhibition brings one of Florida's preeminent painters, Christopher Still, back to his roots with a culmination of masterpieces that spans Still's artistic career from a gifted young boy frequenting the studios of the Gulf Coast Art Center in Belleair to his most recent projects with the Tampa International Airport and the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater. Among his most notable achievements is a commission of the portrait of Governor Lawton Chiles in the Florida Governors Mansion and his tour de force, ten murals for the House of Representatives in Tallahassee, which tells the history and heritage of Florida through captivating imagery and accurate detail.

18th Annual Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic

Sheraton Sand Key Resort 1160 Gulf Blvd. Clearwater Beach, FL 33767-2799  "It's a Dixie and Swing Thing!" Traditional jazz and swing will once again fill the air at the 18th annual Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic. This event is the largest traditional festival in the state and one of the largest on the east coast. The Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach will host a crowd of about 5,000 over three days. More than 20 bands will play in several venues, from gulf side to ballroom. We will crown the 2008 State Champions in each of five classes and have exhibitions from a Florida University and the Marine Corps Band.

St. Petersburg Bowl

Tropicana Field 1 Tropicana Dr. St. Petersburg, FL 33705-1703  Post-season college football has an exciting new event, the inaugural St. Petersburg Bowl. This NCAA-certified bowl is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television (ERT) and will be played at Tropicana Field in exciting downtown St. Petersburg on December 20, 2008.
The game will feature a bowl-eligible team from the BIG EAST Conference against one from Conference USA. The Conferences are made up of eight and twelve college-athlete teams respectively and competing teams will be announced after the 2008-09 college football season has been completed.

There also will be craft vendors and food from area restaurants from 5 to 11 p.m. The parade begins at 7:30 p.m. and moves along Douglas Avenue, from Beltrees to Monroe. Free.
